自然指数（Nature Index）是Nature出版集团（Nature Publishing Group）依托于全球顶级期刊（2014年11月开始选定68种）统计各高校、科研院所（国家）在国际上最具影响力的研究型学术期刊上发表论文数量的数据库。运用这个数据库，可以根据各机构的论文发表数量及类别来进行排名和期刊索引，这一数据库实时在线版免费为公众开放（网址：www.natureindex.com）。
